Missions

At First Baptist Church we believe that missions is more than just supporting our overseas missionaries or giving money to do mission work.  We are a church that seeks to be missional in everything that we do.  For us that means that we are each called to be missionaries wherever we are.  Our church acts as a gathering place where we can be challenged, equipped, and encouraged to go back out into our mission field.

Our Missions Team finds many opportunities for us to give of our time and our money throughout the year in order to support missions.  We give through the ABC/USA to support our many missionaries and ministers through our four annual drives.  These are the America for Christ offering, One Great Hour of Sharing, World Mission Offering, and the Retired Ministers and Missionaries Offering.  We are also involved in supporting White Cross and Operation Christmas Child during Christmas time.

We support as a part of the Missionary Partnership Network for:

Kihomi Ngwemi and Nzunga Mabudiga

Kihomi and Nzunga serve as a vital link between International Ministries and the Haitian Baptist Convention. Nzunga teaches theology at the Christian University of Northern Haiti, trains assistant professors in teaching and writing books, administers a scholarship program, and visits and preaches in churches. He also administers the "Kids for Kids" goat projects, and provides needed school and personal supplies for children and university students.

Kihomi works with families in areas of counseling, family planning, and women's health issues. She also coordinates and advises the women's association of the Haitian Baptist Convention, representing women of all the Baptist denominations of Haiti at international conferences.

And locally, we support Fellowship Cup through food drives, volunteering, and other gifts.  We support our local Christian School, and are very active in the life of our Forest Lake Camp.
